Midnight in Singapore. Your contact’s a no show, your client wants answers and your empty bank balance hangs over you like a neon-tinted Sword of Damocles. Welcome to 2037. Welcome to Chinatown Detective Agency.

A neo-noir detective game inspired by the old Carmen Sandiego games, as Narrative Director I was tasked with creating and structuring the game’s main campaign. I also wrote the entirety of the dialogue for the main missions, as well as for one of the three introductory missions.

Praise for Chinatown Detective Agency

“[A]n elegantly satirical game which posits that the future is centered on the east…And despite the geopolitical upheavals, this is a scenario that throbs with contemporary relevance.”
EDGE magazine

“I want to praise the writing again, because it’s so deft, but knowing, and I think I found something to make me laugh on every screen.”
RockPaperShotgun

“The player will encounter a host of interesting characters that are full of personality, offering dialogue that is a combination of delightful banter and surprisingly deep and philosophical musings on the world. They are one of the most standout features of Chinatown Detective Agency, presenting unique personal philosophies and characteristics that leave the player enraptured.”
ScreenRant

“The story and worldbuilding are two of the areas in which Chinatown Detective Agency really shines…Like some of the best sci-fi works, the writing goes just far enough to be exciting (or chilling) without sacrificing plausibility. “
